Here at Carriage House, we are committed to giving back to our community in a variety of ways.   For example, we donate our day old bread, bakery and any left over food items to Community Resource Services who serve those in need in Avon and Avon Lake.  

In addition, we have made a commitment to make a financial or "in-kind" donation to one charity per month.  We have included this page on our website so that you can better understand who we give to and why and thereby increase your chances that your "good cause" will be one of the ones that we choose to donate to out of the hundreds we are asked to support.

• First, and most importantly, you must be a customer.  A customer is not someone who just walks into the store to ask for a donation.  Rather, a customer is someone who shops in our store with some regularity.
• We give preference to charities that serve and are located in Lorain County.
• Because most everything that we have in our store is made fresh daily, donating items for a "gift basket" is almost impossible and we don't issue "gift certificates".   So...we have come up with a program that we believe is a win-win for everyone.  We simply work with you to designate one Sunday in a month and then we donate a portion of the sales (usually 10%)  to your charity.  The more you encourage folks to come in any buy that product, the more we donate to your cause.
• In addition, once we choose a charity for the month, we will include a "blurb" in our email newsletter so that your cause will receive extra exposure and, hopefully, extra cash donations.
